Milan Mens Shows: Jil Sander

This week is the mens fashion week in Milan. Because of the economy, it is expected that designers will showcase safe and commercial clothes that are accessible to the customer. But Raf Simons at Jil Sander threw a curve ball at the beginning of the week that has Women's Wear Daily, the industry bible, wondering if the week is going to be a bumpy ride after all. The suits Simons sent out are curvy and strong, like if soldiers went into the trenches wearing hourglass-shaped blazers. He dispenses with dress shirts, mostly, and served a long procession of subdued colors - black, gray, herringbone and bright charcoal color blocking towards the end - over impeccable-looking turtlenecks. We will have pictures from the rest of the week as they come.
